Small Fish Dry Fry Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh small fish
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 2 green chilli, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • ½tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp kashmiri chilli powder
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Firstly marinate the fishes in salt and turmeric powder.
  2. Heat 4 tbsp mustard oil in a pan till it is close to its smoking point. Shallow fry the fishes on medium flame.
  3. Once you have completed frying the fishes, keep them aside on a plate.
  4. In the same pan, if required, add some more Oil and wait until the Oil becomes hot.
  5. Add sliced onion, chopped garlic and saute for 2 minutes.
  6. Add cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, coriander powder and mix it.
  7. Add chopped tomatoes and salt into the pan and give a nice mix.
  8. Cover the pan and cook on low flame for 2 minutes.
  9. Now add fried fishes and give a nice and gentle stir and cover the pan. Cook them on low flame for another 2 minutes.
  10. Switch off the flame and put the pan down.
