Ingredients

  • 3 tsp oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 2 cups boiled lobia/ black eye beans
  • salt
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • 1½ cups water
  • ¼ tsp garam masala
  • coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat 3 tsp oil in a pan and add bay leaves.
  2. add chopped onion and ginger-garlic paste, saute until it turns golden.
  3. add red chilli powder and turmeric and stir it.
  4. add tomato puree, coriander powder, cumin powder and saute the masala until it leaves the side of the pan.
  5. add boiled lobia and salt and stir it well.
  6. add water and mix well and simmer on a low flame for 5 minutes.
  7. after 5 minutes add garam masala and coriander leaves.
  8. serve it with rice or roti.
